Creation of Pranarakshaa Samajaya and Dakma...

  The only request my father made from me after giving me a quarter share of his entire wealth which included the great Engineering Company Jinasena Ltd. Was to create an institution where youth from rural areas of Sri Lanka could learn modern Engineering Technology. 

My grandfather C. Jinasena came from a poor family, he was fortunate enough to become an apprentice at the Ceylon Government Railways workshop at Ratmalana. 

The technical skills and knowledge he acquired at this institution helped him to find employment not only in his mother country but also in neighboring countries including Buruma and Malaya. On returning to this country  he started his own company, initially repairing bicycles and sewing machines.

Recognizing that to have credibility he has to have a recognized British Qualification, he successfully became an Associate of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in Great Britain, at that time one of the pinnacle Engineering Institution in the World and probably the first local to achieve this distinction. 

His company developed to become the largest and most recognized locally owned Engineering company in this country, at a time when the great British Companies such as Walkers, Browns, Colombo Commercials and Hoar and company dominated the Engineering scene in this country. 

During his lifetime he actively participated in many projects to restore the grandeur of our civilization, being the Chief Honorary Engineer of the Ruvanweliseya restoration project amongst other noteworthy projects including the restoration of Jayasri Maha Bhodi site, Kirivehera, Tissamaharama, Seruvila and Mihintale.My father's dream was to set up an institution that would create such entrepreneurs, he passed this onto me. 

For myself having completed a successful career in Engineering and Management I was obliged to make this dream a reality. I set up an Institution to do just this, I went to the most remote areas of this country, choose youth who had ability and the correct attitudes but were stuck having been forced to study arts subjects to A/L due to lack of facilities in their schools to teach science subjects. 

I got them trained not only in Engineering Technology but also living skills including the Eastern Philosophies and the modern thinking of renowned modern Western Philosopher including Ken Wilbur and Deepak Chopra and extensive personal development programs. After two years they graduate from this institute, at graduation they join a society called Pranarakshaa Samajaya, where the pledge to lead a life helping other people and not harm the environment or their fellow beings. 

Having realized the difference that this training had made in their lives they decided to start a monthly magazine named  Dekma so that rural youth who did not have the good fortune of attending our institute could share these ideas. This is the history of Pranaraksha and  Dekma, a movement by the Youth of this country to develop their fellow beings to live a purposeful and sustainable life. 

Membership of Pranarakshaa Samajaya is open to youth who have followed extensive personal training programs conducted by my institutions and demonstrated the ability to lead exemplary lives of service and dedication to the well being of their fellow beings.

ප්‍රාණාරක්ෂා සමාජය හා දැක්ම...

             මාගේ පියාණන් ඉපැයූ මුලු මහත් ධනය අප සහෝදරවරු 04 දෙනාට කොටස් 04 කින් පරිත්‍යාග කරන ලදි.එයින් මට ලැබුණු කොටසට විශිෂ්ට ඉංජිනේරු ආයතනයක් වන ජිනසේන ඉංජිනේරු ආයතනයද ඇතුලත් විය.

             මාගේ පියාගේ එකම ඉල්ලීම වූයේ දුෂ්කර ග්‍රාමීය ප්‍රදේශවල  තරුණයන් හට ඉංජිනේරු තාක්ෂණ ශිල්පය ලබාදෙමින් නවීන ඉංජිනේරු තාක්ෂනයෙන් පිරි ආයතනයක් නිර්මාණය කිරීමයි.මාගේ සීයා වන c.ජිනසේන මහතා ඉතා දිලිදු පවුලක ඉපදුන පුද්ගලයකු වන අතර ඔහු වාසනාවන්ත වුනා රත්මලාන ශ්‍රී ලංකා දුම්රිය කර්මාන්ත ශාලාවේ ආධුනිකයෙකු ලෙස තම වෘත්තීය  ජීවිතය ආරම්භ කරන්නට.එහිදී ඔහු ලබා ගත් තාක්ෂණික හැකියාවන් හා දැනුම උදවු උපකාර වුනා මෙරටේ පමණක් නොව අප අසල්වැසි රාජ්‍යන් වන බුරුමා සහ මලයා රටවල් වල රැකියා සොයා ගැනීමට.නැවත ලංකාවට පැමිණි පසු ඔහු ආරම්භ කලා ඔහුගේම ව්‍යාපාරයක් බයිසිකල් හා මහන මෂින් අලුත්වැඩියා කරන .එය කරගෙන යෑමේදී ඔහුට වැටහුනා පිළිගත් බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය සුදුසුකමක ඇති වැදගත්කම.ඒ සදහා ඔහු ඒ කාලය වන විට ලෝකයේ අග්‍රගනයේ ආයතනයක්  වන Institute of mechanical Engineers ආයතනය සම්භන්ධව Associate engineer කෙනෙක් බවට පත් වුණා.

              එහිදී ඔහු එමගින් පිරිනමන වටිනාම සම්මානයක් හා සුදුසුකමක් වන “A.M.I.MECH.E” සම්මානය ලබා ගැනීමට තරම් හැකියාවෙන් පූර්ණ පුද්ගලයෙකු බවට පත්වුණා.එය එම ආයතනය ලෝකයේ අංක එකේ ආයතනයක් වන බවත් මෙකී සම්මානය ලබා ගැනීමට හැකි වූ පලමු ලාංකිකයා මගේ සීයා වන බව අපි විශ්වාස කරනවා.

එමගින් එම හැකියා හා දක්ෂතා උපයෝගී කරගෙන ලෝකයේ ඉතා ඉහල තැනක් ගත් බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය ආයතනයන්  වන Walker , Browns , Colombo commercial හා Hoar  & company තරමට දියුණු විශාලතම ,ඉහල පිලිගැනීමක් යුත් ලාංකික ඉංජිනේරු ආයතනයක් ලෙස ඔහුගේ ආයතනය ඔහු වැඩි දියුණු කරා.

               එපමනක් නොව ඔහුගේ ජීවිත කාලය තුල අපගේ ජනතාව නැවත නගා සිටුවීම සදහා ව්‍යපෘති  ගණනාවකටම  කාර්‍යශූර ලෙස ඔහු සහභාගි විය.ඒවා අතර ඔහු ප්‍රධාන ස්වේච්ඡා ඉංජිනේරුවකු ලෙස රුවන්වැලි සෑය නැවත ප්‍රතිස්ථාපනය කිරීමේ ව්‍යාපෘතිය සහ අනෙකුත් සැලකිය යුතු ව්‍යපෘති වන ජය ශ්‍රී මහ බෝධිය , කිරිවෙහෙර ,සේරුවාවිල හා මිහින්තලය යන ආගමික ස්ථාන ප්‍රතිස්ථාපනය කිරීමේ ව්‍යාපෘති සදහන් කල හැකිය.

              මාගේ පියාගේ හීනයක් වුනේ තම පියා මෙන් විශිෂ්ඨ ව්‍යවසායකයින්මේ රටට බිහිකිරීම ආයතනයක් ඇති කිරීමය.ඔහු ඒ හීනය මාගේ හීනයක් බවට පත්කරා.

මම වෘත්තීයම වශයෙන් ඉංජිනේරු හා කළමණාකරන අංශයෙන් සාර්ථක වූ අතර මාගේ පියාගේ සිහිනය යතාර්ථයක් බවට පත් කිරීමට හැකියාව ලැබුණා.මම ඒ සදහා ආයතනයක් ආරම්භ කරා.මම ගොඩක් දුෂ්කර ග්‍රාමීය ප්‍රදේශ කරා ගිහිල්ලා වැඩක් කිරීමේ හැකියාව විතරක් නෙවෙයි හොද ආකල්ප තියෙන දරුවො ටිකක් විශේෂයෙන්ම පාසල් වල තිබෙන පහසුකම් අඩුකම නිසා විද්‍යා සහ ගණිත අංශයන් තෝරගන්න බැරිව කලා විෂය ධාරාවේ මාර්ගයක් නොමැතිව හිරවෙලා හිටපු ඔවුන්ව මම පුහුණු කලා.ඉංජිනේරු තාක්ෂණය ඉගෙන ගන්න විතරක් නෙවෙයි ජීවත් වීමේ හැකියාව පවා පුරුදු කරා.ගොඩාක් දුරට අපරදිග දර්ශනවාදය මෙන්ම නවීන සිතුම් පැතුම් ක්‍රම.පෙරදිග දර්ශනවාදය උපයෝගි කර ගනිමින් විශේෂයෙන් Ken Wilbur සහ Deepak chopra වැනි පුද්ගලයන්ගේ පුද්ගල සංවර්ධන වැඩසටහන් නොකඩවා යොදා ගනිමින් අවුරුදු 02 ක වෘත්තීය අධ්‍යපනය සාර්ථකව අවසන් කරාට පස්සෙ මේ දරුවො සම්භන්ධ වුනා “ප්‍රාණාරක්ෂා සමාජය” නම් වූ සමාජයට.

          ඒ දරුවෝ  මූලිකත්වය ගන්නව අනුන්ට උදව් කරමින් පරිසරයට කිසිම හානියක් නොවන ආකාරයෙන් මෙලොව පවතින සියලුම ජීවීන්ගේ පැවැත්ම ආරක්ෂා කිරීමට.ඒ දරුවෝ මෙම අවුරුදු 02 ක කාලය තුල ලබා ගත් අත්දැකීම් නිසා ඔවුන් ඔවුන්ගේ ජීවිතයේ සිදු වූ වෙනස්කම් අවබෝධ කරගෙන තීරණය කලා “දැක්ම” නම් වූ  මාසික සගරාවක් ආරම්භ කිරීමට.විශේෂයෙන් මේ දැක්ම සගරාව අවස්ථාවක් කරගන්නවා ග්‍රාමීය දුෂ්කර පළාත්වල වෙසෙන, අප ආයතනයට සම්භන්ද වීමට වාසනාව නොලැබූ දරුවන් හට ඔවුන්ගේ දැනුම ආකල්ප මෙන්ම ජීවිතයද  බෙදා දීමට.

         මේක තමයි ප්‍රාණාරක්ෂා හා දැක්ම සගරාවේ ඉතිහාසය.මේ වන විට තරුණ ප්‍රජාව  විසින් අවබෝධ කරගෙන සිටිනවා සියලුම ජීවීන් හට අවබෝධයෙන් හා මනා පැවැත්මෙන් යුතු ජීවිතයක් උදා කර ගන්නෙ කෙසේද,එය වැඩිදියුණු  කර ගනිමින් පවත්වාගෙන යන්නේ කෙසේද කියා.

ප්‍රාණාරක්ෂා සමාජයේ සාමජිකත්වයට ඉඩ හසර වෙන්වී තිබෙනවා මාගේ ආයතනය මගින් නොකඩවා පවත්වන පුද්ගල සංවර්ධන වැඩසටහන් වලට සම්භන්ධ වීමෙන්.එමගින් අනෙකුත් සියලුම ජීවීන් හට යහපත් පැවැත්මක් උදාකර ගැනීමට ඉවහල් වන්නවු,ආදර්ශමත් ජීවිතයක් ගතකිරීමට මෙන්ම පරිත්‍යාගශිලිත්වයෙන්  යුත් ජීවිතයක් ගතකරන අයුරු පෙන්නුම් කර දෙනවා.

          මේ ලෝකය දැන් අයිතිවන්නේ තරුණයන්ටය.අපි ඔවුන්ට භාර දෙන්නේ ගැටළු සහිත ලෝකයක්.ගැටලු මොනවද කියල අපි පහතින් කතා කරනවා.මෙම  ප්‍රාණාරක්ෂා සමාජය හොදින් කරගෙන යාමට මම සුභ පතනවා.
